I work in a bookstore with enough common sense to not put out the Christmas stuff before Halloween. We wait around mid-November to deal with that nonsense.
But still, with a couple of exceptions, people who get WAY too excited for Christmas sets me on edge.
Right now there’s a full aisle, both sides, of Hallowe’en stuff and the same for xmas, plus a bunch scattered all over the place on the way to the cash registers. I fully expect the Valentine’s stuff to spread out from the little corner it has now to a full aisle by the end of the week.
Same buns, different occasion 😉 They’re usually available year round now too, same as Paczki and even sufganiyot, they’re not just for Channukah anymore !!!
The xmas decorations were in the stores before the Hallowe’en ones this year…again.

Early is early but they went up in August…EARLY August…
Next year I expect they’ll be up before the Canada Day stuff
Early August!? Holy underwear!
I’ve heard of Christmas in July sales, but that’s a new scary level of Capitalism right there.

Near me they have had Easter Hot Cross Buns out for a couple of months now

For many stores, Christmas sales are half of the whole year’s sales. Can you blame them for trying to spread them out?
