I love the index — thanks for creating it. I’m a little disappointed that in order insert it, you had to point the primary Grimoires links to the index, so that in order to get to the current/most recent page you have to then click on a secondary link on the index page — my preference would be that the Grimoires primary link would continue to point to the most recent page, and the index would just be prominent on that page, and technically on every page. I can understand why you did it that way, since you’d have to go in and probably edit each and every one of the available 888 pages in order to do it my way, and this was just a quick top level insertion.
My suggestion / recommendation would be to eventually replace the existing jump button bar that’s on the top and bottom of each grimoire page image. Currently they all read [ << First] [ ] [Last >> ]. I would love to see them instead be something like this: [ <<< First] [ << Arc Start] [ } [Next Arc >> ] [Last >>> ] . Those 7 buttons would replace the 4 you currently have. (If you’re currently on the first page of an arc, perhaps the Arc Start link would instead be Arc Prev and point to the start of the previous arc.) I understand it would probably take a long time to edit / replace each page, but it might be a worthwhile task. Ideally you’d be able to create some sort of “imbed” page[s], or edit your existing imbeds to quickly implement this common change onto every page.
Again — Having the index is great, and I’m glad to see it, and I thank you for implementing it. It is probably a lot of effort, but I believe the Navigation link bar I’ve suggested would make it easier to go from page to page or arc to arc, now that you have the index. It’s not critical — but perhaps you can consider it to be a long term site maintenance goal, or plug it in a story arc at a time.
(Personally, I’d love to see you find someone to play / sing the Teddy Bears’ Torment and turn it into a little video on youtube — I might even consider that to be a higher priority than updating the link bar.) But, hang in there, keep the faith. You do good art and story and one-liners.
My button bar examples got damaged in the posting process. I meant:
[ << First ] [ ] [ Last >> ]. and
[ <<< First ] [ << Arc Start ] [ ] [ Next Arc >> ] [ Last >>> ]
It did it again. Original buttons are First, Prev, Next, Last
New Buttons would be First, Arc Start, Prev, Index, Next, Next Arc, and Last
(I guess this posting box looks for things inside of angle brackets and throws them away or such.)
